August 25: Random Acts of Kindness
The Unit partnered with The Victory Project to do a “Random Act of Kindness”. The random act included spending two hours cleaning the debris and litter from the large parking lot behind The Victory Project in downtown Dayton. Over 30 people participated. The Victory Project is a local program centered on mentoring court-involved and disadvantaged youth by bringing together partnerships with the Business, Criminal Justice, and Faith communities. Additionally, the Unit donated 16 backpacks full of school supplies to the young men in The Victory Project.
September 24: Wesleyan Center - Deeper Meaning/Deeper Cleaning
The Unit partnered with The Wesley Center for a good “Ol’ Fashioned” facility clean up and relationship building day in partnership with members of Wesley’s the Male Awareness and People Taking Charge Programs.
September 29: Adventure Central "Pay it Forward"
The Unit partnered with Adventure Central at Weselyn MetroPark for their “Pay it Forward” campaign. Members of The Unit taught students about the concept of community and how to become advocates of their own. In addition they helped students develop an appreciation for the importance of physical fitness and get their bodies moving in the process.
October 8: Volley for Heart
The Unit participated in a vollleyball fundraiser to benefit the American Heart Association.
